Waste not want not

The goal of the $8M Seymour Resource Recovery Centre project is for the Mitchell Shire to divert 80% of waste from landfill by 2030. Steelwork Bendigo supplied and installed the structural steel for the new waste sorting facility to help the recovery centre make that goal a reality.

The project occurred in a greenfield site at the height of the 2022 floods in Victoria.  The open site was heavily compromised due to the flooding event, making it extraordinarily challenging, with severe mud hampering accessibility and the waterlogged ground providing complex workaround solutions to ensure the project remained on schedule.
