Major hospital redevelopment

The redevelopment of the Goulburn Valley Hospital was a significant investment and project for the region. The $230M undertaking included multiple workfronts, conducted in a live environment over two stages.

Stage 1. Steelworks Bendigo supplied the secondary steel and metalwork for the new emergency department and theatres. The steel was supplied and installed in a live environment.
Stage 2 involved supply and installation of th structural and secondary steel for old hospital refurbishment. This stage included the special care nursery, entry facade, and canopy, plant room, and earthquake strengthening.

Safety was a key driver to our planning and execution with high traffic considerations. Steelwork Bendigo supplied and installed the structural steel for the refurbishment and compliance stages, including the facade for the new emergency entrance, the plant room extension, the special care nursery and the structural steel for the earthquake strengthening.
